SBAC-PAD 2009

THE 21st INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON COMPUTER ARCHITECTURE AND
HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTING

Sao Paulo, Brazil, October 28-31, 2009

SBAC-PAD is an annual international conference series, the first of which was held in 1987. Each conference has traditionally presented new developments in high-performance computing, as well as the latest trends in computer architecture. The conference has strong international participation, with submissions from more than a dozen countries, and is competitive. In 2009, the symposium will be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. SBAC-PAD 2009 is sponsored by the SBC (Brazilian Computer Society), the IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing), and the IEEE Computer Society through the Technical Committees on Computer Architecture (TCCA - pending) and Scalable Computing (TCSC - pending).

Authors are invited to submit original manuscripts on a wide range of high-performance computing areas, including computer architecture, systems software, languages and compilers, algorithms, and applications. Specifically, topics of interest include:

Processor, cache, memory, storage, and network architecture Operating systems and virtualization Languages, compilers, and tools for parallel and distributed programming Parallel and distributed systems, algorithms, and applications Real-world applications and case studies
Benchmarking, performance measurements, and analysis Modeling and simulation methodology
Application-specific systems Grid, cluster, and peer-to-peer systems Reconfigurable and fault-tolerant systems Embedded and pervasive systems Power and energy-efficient systems

We also seek to provide a forum for the early dissemination of original contributions on emerging topics, such as programming systems and tools for many-core processors, management software for solid-state storage systems, all aspects of game consoles, and data-center-scale computing. Submissions on new topics will be reviewed with the understanding that they are likely to contain more limited quantitative evaluations than those on established topics.

Traditionally, the best papers of the conference are published in an international journal. In recent years, the journal has been the International Journal of Parallel Programming (IJPP). We expect the same to happen this year.
