ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The IEEE EDOC Conference is the key annual event in enterprise computing. EDOC conferences address the full range of engineering technologies and methods contributing to intra- and inter-enterprise distributed application systems. EDOC 2010 will be the fourteenth event in the series of conferences. Since 1997, EDOC has brought together leading computer science researchers, IT decision makers, IT architects, solution designers and practitioners to discuss enterprise computing challenges, models and solutions from the perspectives of academia, industry and government.

Enterprise computing is based on a wide (and ever growing) range of methods, models, tools and technologies. The resulting applications also cover a broad spectrum of vertical domains and industry segments, from electronic and mobile commerce to real-time business applications for collaborating enterprises. In recent years, technologies related to business processes integration, management, execution and monitoring have become some of the top areas of interest in enterprise computing. Today, the creation, operation and evolution of enterprise computing systems create challenges that range from high-level requirements and policy modeling to the deployment and maintenance of solutions in and across customer businesses.

The IEEE EDOC Conference emphasizes a holistic view on enterprise applications engineering and management, fostering integrated approaches that can address and relate processes, people and technology. The themes of openness and distributed computing, based on services, components and objects, provide a useful and unifying conceptual framework.

IEEE EDOC 2010 welcomes high quality scientific submissions as well as papers on enterprise computing industry experiences. Expert panel discussions and keynotes will address hot topics and issues in the domain.

IEEE EDOC 2010 will be realized in Vitória, ES, Brazil. Vitória is one of the three island capitals of Brazilian states, and is located in the Southeastern region, the most developed of Brazil. The city lies between the Atlantic Ocean and the Serra do Mar mountain range and is strategically located close to the big urban centres of the country and is, on average, an hour by plane from Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Two types of paper submissions will be accepted a) scientific research papers, and b) industry experience reports or case studies.
Scientific research papers should describe original results that have not been accepted or submitted for publication elsewhere. These papers will be evaluated for scientific or technical contribution, originality, appropriateness and significance.
Experience reports should describe new insights gained from case studies or the application of enterprise computing technology in practice, contribute important feedback about the state of practice and how current research is applied, and pose challenges for researchers. These papers will be evaluated based on their appropriateness, significance and clarity.

All papers should be limited to 10 pages in length. All submissions must comply with the IEEE Computer Society conference proceedings format guidelines (http://www2.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting) (please use the latest template as there have been updates recently). Submissions must be in English.
Submissions should be made electronically in PDF format via the electronic submission system of the EDOC Conference Management system (hosted at http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=edoc2010). All papers will be refereed by at least 3 members of the international program committee.

The conference proceedings will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Press and will be accessible through IEEE Xplore and the IEEE Computer Society Digital Library. The IEEE reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (e.g., removal from IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the conference.

POST CONFERENCE PUBLICATION

The authors of a set of selected papers will be invited to prepare a substantially revised and extended version of their papers for publication in a special journal issue (details will be announced later). In previous years, selected papers from EDOC have been published in Springer's Information Systems Frontiers (ISF), Enterprise Information Systems (EIS), and International Journal of Cooperative Information Systems (IJCIS). Additionally, selected papers will be considered for publication of an extended version in a volume of Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) under the title "Trends in Enterprise Application Architecture".

WORKSHOP PROPOSALS

We are inviting proposals for workshops on innovative research and industry-related topics. Workshops provide organizers and participants an opportunity to discuss current topics in enterprise computing in a small and interactive atmosphere. Proposals should include the workshop title, the names and a brief (200-word) biography for each organizer and a summary of the workshop contents (approximately 1-2 pages, i.e. 500-1000 words). Informações Gerais
==================
O SBBD é o evento oficial da SBC na área de Banco de Dados e o maior evento na América Latina nesta área. O simpósio visa a divulgação de resultados de pesquisa nesta área, sendo um importante fórum para aquisição de conhecimento e troca de experiências. O evento reúne pesquisadores, estudantes e profissionais do Brasil e do exterior para discutir problemas relacionados aos tópicos maisatuais da tecnologia de banco de dados. Este ano, o simpósio será realizado na cidade de Belo Horizonte, capital do estado de Minas Gerais e terceira maior cidade do Brasil. A sessão de Demos do SBBD promove, desde 2004, a mostra de soluções automatizadas para pesquisadores, desenvolvedores e profissionais, tanto da academia quanto do mercado, interessados em implementações práticas e funcionais para problemas não triviais que envolvam tecnologias para gerência de dados e/ou informações.

Submissão e Avaliação
=====================
O processo de avaliação e de seleção das demonstrações ocorre em 2 etapas. Na primeira etapa, os autores submetem um artigo descrevendo as principais características de suas demos. Cada artigo submetido é analisado por pelo menos 3 membros do Comitê de Programa quanto à originalidade, alcance prático do software, contribuição técnica e apresentação. Na segunda etapa, as demos selecionadas serão apresentadas durante o simpósio, quando são novamente analisadas por um Comitê de Julgamento. Os resultados das 2 avaliações são utilizados pelo Comitê de Julgamento para escolher e premiar a melhor demo.

A Sessão de Demos será realizada em 2 dias durante o SBBD 2010. Pelo menos um dos autores de cada demo deve estar presente na Conferência para fazer uma apresentação prática do software.

Adicionalmente, cada demo deve ter um poster para exibição durante a sua apresentação prática. O poster, no tamanho de 0.70 cm x 1.00 m (width x height), deverá incluir a seguinte informação:
- nome do software
- logo da SBBD 2010
- nomes e afiliações dos autores
- informações sobre financiamento para construção do software, se aplicável
- e-mail de contato e URL para maiores informações sobre o software
- resumo
- principais características/funcionalidades do software
- principais referências

É desejável que os autores utilizem equipamento próprio (laptop) para a realização das apresentações práticas. Se necessário, equipamento específico poderá estar disponível para instalação e execução do software, se previamente solicitado à organização (junto à submissão do artigo final).

Artigos podem ser escritos em Português ou Inglês, e devem estar no formato PDF. Outros formatos não são aceitos. Os artigos devem ter até 6 (seis) páginas, incluindo: resumo (português), abstract (inglês), objetivos do trabalho, descrição detahada da demo e de suas funcionalidades (incluindo figuras e diagramas) e referências. Networks of computers are the most common and available parallel architecture now. Unlike dedicated parallel computer systems, networks are inherently heterogeneous. They consist of diverse computers of different performances interconnected via heterogeneous network equipment providing communication links with different latencies and bandwidths. Traditional parallel algorithms and tools are aimed at homogeneous multiprocessors and cannot be efficiently used for parallel computing on heterogeneous networks. New ideas, dedicated algorithms and tools are needed to efficiently use this new type of parallel architectures. The workshop is intended to be a forum for people working on algorithms, programming languages, tools, and theoretical models aimed at efficient problem solutions on heterogeneous networks.

Authors are encouraged to submit original, unpublished research or overviews on Algorithms, Models and Tools for Parallel Computing on Heterogeneous Platforms. Manuscripts should be limited to 10 pages in Springer LNCS style sheet and submitted through the EasyChair Conference System: https://www.easychair.org/login.cgi?conf=heteropar2010. Accepted papers that are presented at the workshop will be published in revised form in a special Euro-Par Workshop Volume in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series after the Euro-Par conference.

The increasing volumes and dimensions of information have dramatic
impact on effective decision-making. To remedy this situation,
Information Reuse and Integration (IRI) seeks to maximize the reuse
of information by creating simple, rich, and reusable knowledge
representations and consequently explores strategies for integrating
this knowledge into legacy systems. IRI plays a pivotal role in the
capture, representation, maintenance, integration, validation, and
extrapolation of information; and applies both information and
knowledge for enhancing decision-making in various application
domains. This conference explores three major tracks: information
reuse, information integration, and reusable systems. Information
reuse considers optimizing representation methodologies; information
integration studies strategies for creatively applying models in
novel domains; and reusable systems focus on ontological
opportunities for deploying models and corresponding processes.

The IEEE IRI conference serves as a forum for researchers and
practitioners from academia, industry, and government to present,
discuss, and exchange ideas that address real-world problems with
real-world solutions. The conference feature contributed and
invited papers. Theoretical and applied papers are both included.
The conference program will include special sessions, open forum
workshops, and keynote speeches. A forum will be conducted with
the intent of bridging IRI and Systems of Systems and why the future
of intelligent computing - including computing applications - will
lie at the juxtaposition of these two topical areas.

postal address(es) on the first page. Papers should be submitted at

submission is not possible, manuscripts should be sent as an attachment

Papers will be selected based on their originality, timeliness,

publication in a volume of the journal sub line of Lecture Notes
in Computer Science entitled "Transactions on Petri Nets and
Other Models of Concurrency" (ToPNoC). The papers are expected to
be thoroughly revised and they will go through a totally new
round of reviewing as is standard practice for journal papers.

Scope

For the successful realisation of complex systems of interacting
and reactive software and hardware components the use of a
precise language at different stages of the development process
is of crucial importance. Petri nets are becoming increasingly
popular in this area, as they provide a uniform language
supporting the tasks of modelling, validation, and
verification. Their popularity is due to the fact that Petri nets
capture fundamental aspects of causality, concurrency and choice
in a natural and mathematically precise way without compromising
readability.

The workshop PNSE'10 (Petri nets and Software Engineering) will
take place as a satellite event of Petri Nets 2010.

The use of Petri nets (P/T-nets, coloured Petri nets and
extensions) in the formal process of software engineering,
covering modelling, validation, and verification, will be
presented as well as their application and tools supporting the
disciplines mentioned above.

The programme committee invites submissions of full contributions
(up to 15 pages) or short contributions (up to 5 pages). Ongoing
work (up to 2 pages) can also be presented in a special poster
session.

Please note that for full contributions up to 15 pages are
recommended. However, up to 20 pages can be used for the
pre-proceedings. Nevertheless only 15 pages will be allowed for
the possible post-proceedings papers.

The fifth edition of the Reconfigurable Communication-centric Systems-on-Chip workshop (ReCoSoC 2010) will be held in Karlsruhe, Germany from May 17th to May 19th, 2010.
ReCoSoC is intended to be a periodic annual meeting to expose and discuss gathered expertise as well as state of the art research around SoC related topics through plenary invited papers and posters. Similarly to the event in 2008 and the years before, we will have several keynotes given by internationally renowned speakers as well as special events like e.g. tutorials.

ReCoSoC is a 3-day long event which endeavors to encourage scientific exchanges and collaborations. This year again ReCoSoC perpetuates its original principles: thanks to the high sponsoring obtained from our partners registration fees will remain under the 150 € threshold.

**** SCOPE AND TOPICS ****
The P2P'10 conference solicits papers on all aspects of peer-to-peer
computing. Of particular interest is research that furthers the
state-of-the-art in the design and analysis of peer-to-peer applications
and systems, or that investigates real, deployed, large-scale
peer-to-peer applications or systems. The applications can range from
the traditional peer-to-peer application of file sharing to more novel
applications such as media streaming and intelligence sharing. Topics
of interest include but are not limited to the following aspects of
P2P computing:

* Information retrieval and query support
* Semantic overlay networks and semantic query routing
* P2P for grids, clouds, and datacenters
* Deployed (commercial) applications and systems
* Security, trust, and reputation
* Cooperation, incentives, and fairness

* Overlay interaction with underlying infrastructure
* Overlay monitoring and management
* Self-organization
* P2P applications and systems over mobile networks

**** PAPER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES ****
Papers can be submitted either as full papers or as short papers in the IEEE
single-spaced two-column format using at least 10 point font size. Full papers
should not exceed 10 pages and short papers should not exceed 4 pages. Papers
must be submitted electronically in PDF format through the paper-submission website
linked from the conference website. IEEE templates for LaTeX and Microsoft Word,
as well as related information, can be found at
http://www.ieee.org/web/publications/authors/transjnl/index.html.
The conference proceedings will be published by the IEEE Communications Society.

All submissions will be evaluated using a double-blind review process. To ensure
blind reviewing, papers should be anonymized by removing author names and
affiliations, as well as by masking any information about projects and bibliographic
references, etc. that might reveal the authors' identities. Papers that are not
properly anonymized will be returned without review. Submitted papers should
describe original and previously unpublished research and are not allowed to be
simultaneously submitted or under review elsewhere.

All papers must be registered with the submission system by the abstract submission
deadline. At least one author of every accepted paper must register to the conference
not later than June 10, 2010, 12 PM (EST) and present the paper.

**** DEMONSTRATION SUBMISSION GUIDELINES ****
P2P'10 will also offer the opportunity for demonstrations of operational P2P
applications and systems that exhibit novel features. Proposals for demonstrations
describing the application/system, its novel features, and the demonstration should
be submitted through the conference submission system by the demonstration deadline.
Demonstration proposals should be 2 pages in length, and should otherwise adhere to
the format required for papers. At least one proposer of every accepted demonstration
must register to the conference not later than June 10, 2010, 12 PM (EST) and give
the demonstration.

**** VENUE ****
The IEEE P2P'10 conference will be held on the campus of Delft University
of Technology, which was founded in 1842 by King William II and which is the
oldest and largest technical university in the Netherlands. It is well
established as one of the leading technical universities in the world.
Delft is a small, historical town dating back to the 13th century. Delft has
many old buildings and small canals, and it has a lively atmosphere. The city
offers a large variety of hotels and restaurants. Many other places of interest
(e.g., Amsterdam and The Hague) are within one hour distance of traveling.
Traveling to Delft is easy. Delft is close to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport
(60 km, 45 min by train), which has direct connections from all major airports
in the world. Delft also has excellent train connections to the rest of Europe.

A série WCGA tem por objetivo atuar como um fórum para apresentações técnicas de pesquisas em andamento e atividades relevantes nas áreas de infra-estrutura e infra-estrutura virtualizada, serviços e aplicações em áreas diversas, congregando pesquisadores e profissionais que atuam ativamente nessas áreas. O workshop também procura estabelecer redes colaborativas multi-institucionais e grupos de competência técnico-científica, bem como fortalecer atividades em andamento.

O VIII Workshop em Clouds, Grids e Aplicações (WCGA 10) será realizado durante o 28º Simpósio Brasileiro de Redes de Computadores e Sistemas Distribuídos (SBRC 2010), em Gramado, RS.

The Middleware conference is a forum for the discussion of important
innovations and recent advances in the design, implementation, deployment,
and usage of middleware. Middleware is a distributed-systems software that
resides between a rich variety of applications on the one hand, and the
underlying architecture on the other hand which may consist of the OS,
hardware, and network stacks or even databases, storage and different cloud
services. The goals of middleware include providing abstractions,
programmability, performance, scalability, security, and a variety of
essential features. This is a rapidly evolving and growing field.

Following the success of past conferences in this series, the 11th
International Middleware Conference will be the premier event for middleware
research and technology in 2010. The scope of the conference is the design,
implementation, deployment, and evaluation of distributed system platforms
and architectures for current and future computing, storage, and
communication environments. Highlights of the conference will include a high
quality technical program, invited speakers, an industrial track, poster and
demo presentations, a doctoral symposium, and workshops.

Submissions on a diversity of topics are sought, particularly those

Industry Papers
The conference strongly encourages submission of industry-focused papers and
use case studies; full papers should be submitted to the main program, where
they will be reviewed using appropriate criteria (e.g. emphasizing
experience and system evolution), and accepted papers will be published in
the main conference proceedings. Additionally, short industry-focused papers
(10 pages, Springer LNCS style) may be submitted to a special industrial
track; accepted short papers will be presented at the conference and
published in the ACM Digital Library. Note that submissions to the main
program may indicate a willingness to be referred to the Industrial Track if
a paper is not accepted to the main program.

Big Ideas Papers
This year, we particularly encourage "big ideas papers"; that is papers that
have the potential for opening up new research directions. For such papers,
the potential to motivate new research is more important than full
experimental evaluation, though some preliminary evidence of the
effectiveness of the approach or idea is important. Authors should indicate
in the introduction that their paper is a vision of a big idea, rather than
more mature work. Such papers should clearly indicate why the idea is
revolutionary and not evolutionary; what the major questions still to be
answered are; and possible avenues of attack for the community to pursue
towards the development of the idea.

O Simpósio Sul de Microeletrônica (SIM) é um fórum para a troca de experiências entre os diversos grupos de pesquisa e pesquisadores da área de microeletrônica na região sul. Professores, pesquisadores e estudantes desenvolvendo trabalhos na área de microeletrônica são convidados a enviar seus artigos para avaliação.

O evento incentiva a submissão tanto de trabalhos que estejam em etapas avançadas, bem como de trabalhos com ideias promissoras e resultados ainda iniciais. Artigos aceitos serão apresentados durante o evento e publicados nos anais com ISBN.

Os principais tópicos de interesse do SIM, dentre outros, são:
- Projetos de circuitos integrados digitais e analógicos.
- Projetos de sistemas em chip.
- Processo e tecnologias de fabricação de CIs.
- Ferramentas de CAD.
- Ambientes e linguagens para projetos de sistemas.
- Sistemas embarcados e de tempo-real.

Apresentação

Redes e sistemas distribuídos dinâmicos têm se tornado mais importantes e presentes no dia-a-dia de indivíduos e organizações. Neste contexto estão incluídas as redes móveis e Ad Hoc, além dos sistemas P2P (Par-a-Par ou Peer-to-Peer). De forma geral, são sistemas tipicamente descentralizados, construídos a partir da interconexão de um grande número de nodos capazes de se auto-organizar, mantendo desempenho aceitável, mesmo frente a padrões de comportamento altamente dinâmicos. Este paradigma apresenta atualmente uma gama muito variada de aplicações e serviços, incluindo compartilhamento de conteúdo e serviços, streaming de áudio e vídeo al&eac ute;m de máquinas de busca. Destaca-se que diversos problemas de redes dinâmicas ainda estão em aberto, para os quais não há soluções clássicas estabelecidas.

O objetivo do VI Workshop de Redes Dinâmicas e Sistemas P2P (WP2P) é constituir um fórum para discussão do estado da arte em tecnologias, aplicações, sistemas e redes dinâmicas e identificar os desafios de pesquisa nesta área. O WP2P 2009 é o fórum ideal para que pesquisadores, alunos e profissionais apresentem trabalhos que estão sendo desenvolvidos nas universidades e centros de pesquisa brasileiros. O workshop será realizado dentro da semana de 24 a 28 de maio de 2010, em Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, fazendo parte da vasta grade de atividades do XXVIII Simpósio Brasileiro de Redes de Computadores e Sistemas Distribuídos.

Escopo

O Simpósio Brasileiro de Engenharia de Software é o principal evento
científico da área no Brasil. Promovido anualmente pela Sociedade
Brasileira de Computação (SBC), o evento normalmente atrai cerca de
500 pessoas entre estudantes, acadêmicos e profissionais.

O SBES é um evento integrante do CBSoft - I Congresso Brasileiro de
Sofware: Teoria e Prática, que será realizado de 27 de setembro a 01
de outubro de 2010, no Hotel Bahia Othon Place, em Salvador - Bahia.

O programa do simpósio inclui sessões técnicas, palestras convidadas,

Submissão de Artigos

Artigos podem ser escritos em português ou inglês. Submissões em
inglês são encorajadas visto que os melhores artigos deverão ser
publicados em periódico internacional. Artigos submetidos ao SBES não
devem ter sidos submetidos a, ou aceitos por, nenhum outro fórum
(conferência ou periódico). Tampouco devem ser cópias de artigos já
publicados anteriormente, mesmo que ligeiramente modificadas ou
traduzidas.

Os artigos submetidos serão revisados por pelo menos três avaliadores,
no que se refere a: originalidade, clareza, relevância, consistência
técnica, e contribuições para a área de engenharia de software. O SBES
é altamente competitivo, tem índice de aceitação em torno de 15%.
Recomendamos à comunidade que os artigos submetidos sejam completos no
sentido de não somente apresentar propostas, mas também
contextualizá-las e comprová-las. Artigos experimentais devem
descrever o método utilizado e interpretar os resultados tanto
quantitativa como qualitativamente. Artigos que descrevem processos,
métodos ou técnicas devem conter uma crítica aprofundada justificando
a sua contribuição e aplicabilidade. A aceitação dos artigos está
condicionada à inscrição no SBES de pelo menos um dos seus autores que
o apresentará em uma sessão técnica.

Tutoriais:
Trabalhos cujo principal objetivo é introduzir de forma didática um
tema específico relacionado a IE. Este tipo de trabalho visa cobrir o
estado da arte oferecendo ao leitor uma visão geral sobre os principais
tópicos de pesquisa na área e apontando e promovendo pesquisas futuras e
em andamento. Tutoriais são uma forma efetiva de educar e difundir
conhecimento para um grupo de leitores que não conhecem o tema em
questão.

Resenha:
É um texto que, além de resumir o objeto, faz uma avaliação sobre ele,
uma crítica, apontando os aspectos positivos, negativos e trazendo uma
visão de futuro da área em estudo. Trata-se, portanto, de um texto de
informação e de opinião, também denominado de recensão crítica.

Artigos Técnicos:
Sao trabalhos que expõe resultados de pesquisas na área de Informática
na Educação, destacando as contribuições nas áreas da Computação e
Educação, contemplando o momento atual de uma tecnologia,
ferramentas, ambientes, sua evolução, arquiteturas, modelos,
aprendizado, e demarcacão de tendências, com a indicacão de novos campos
de pesquisa.

Por Edição serão publicados somente um tutorial e uma resenha.
Os principais objetivos da revista são:
- Estimular a produção científica em nível de graduação e pós-
graduação na área de Aprendizado Enriquecido por Tecnologia;
- Divulgar a produção científica dos grupos de pesquisa vinculados às
instituições de ensino que trabalham com Informática na Educação;

The 11th International Conference on Music Information Retrieval, ISMIR 2010, will be held at the Utrecht University, The Netherlands, from Monday, August 9 to Friday, August 13 2010.

The annual ISMIR Conference is the premier international forum for those working on organizing and accessing digital musical material. The ISMIR conferences reflect the tremendous recent growth of available music-related data and the consequent need to search within it to retrieve music and musical information efficiently and effectively. Music Information Retrieval (MIR) concerns are of interest to academia, industry, entertainment, and education. ISMIR therefore aims to provide a place for the exchange and discussion of MIR issues, developments and results, by bringing together researchers and developers, educators and librarians, students and professional users, working in fields that contribute to MIR's multidisciplinary domain. It is increasingly realised in the MIR community that music only becomes music by its processing by the human mind, and that studying the human processing of music is a key issue in innovative MIR research. Therefore, papers on musical cognition and perception that contribute to the human understanding and experience of music are especially welcomed.

*New Special Paper Category*

New this year, ISMIR 2010 is soliciting a special category of papers: State-of-the-Art Reports (STARs). Unlike regular papers which should focus in detail on specific aspects of MIR research, STAR papers will provide a state-of-the-art overview of a broader MIR problem area. Only a few STAR papers will be selected. A STAR paper will be presented in an oral presentation.

*Call for tutorials*

It is the goal of the ISMIR 2010 Tutorial Program to offer conference attendees and local participants a stimulating and informative selection of introductory or in-depth tutorials reflecting current topics in MIR. These tutorials will be presented by subject matter experts and will reflect the high academic and research standards of the ISMIR 2010 conference. We encourage submissions of tutorial proposals on all topics in the general areas of music information retrieval, especially tutorials bridging these areas, or presenting new perspectives in these areas. However, tutorials on musical cognition and perception that contribute to the human understanding and experience of music, or that make creative use of MIR research, will receive particular attention.

Tutorials will be held Monday, August 9, 2010 (the day preceding the main conference). Tutorial day will consist of parallel sessions of half-day tutorials each concentrating on a single topic and lasting approximately 3 hours, including a break.

Tutorial proposals should be emailed to ismir2010-tutorials@ismir.net as PDF files containing a 1-2 page abstract including:

Invitation of Submissions

In the spirit of the Special Session of PROPOR 2008 - Applications of

Portuguese Speech and Language Technologies -, aiming at bringing

together Academia and Industry and creating a forum where more than

written or spoken descriptions of research are available, PROPOR 2010

organizers and PROPOR Steering Committee decided to integrate a Session

on Demonstrations in the program.

In order to submit your demonstration description, enter the JEMS

conference management system https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/ and select

the submission page for PROPOR2010, then fill in the online form, check

out the topics of your paper and upload your file (.pdf format only).

The proposals must be 2 pages in English, non-blinded and following the

LNAI format (http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html). Submissions

should contain a brief description of the work, what is going to be

demonstrated and how.

Demos should allow participants to try and test them during their

presentation. It is authors' responsibility to provide the necessary

technical conditions (equipments) for the demo at the conference.

Products, systems, tools are examples of demos.

The accepted proposals will be included on the additional electronic

proceedings (but not in the Springer LNCS) to be distributed to PROPOR

2010 participants.

The Internet has revolutionized and changed the way we communicate,
socialize, entertain, access information and conduct business. It has
evolved into a pervasive ecosystem of connected computers, mobile
devices, sensors, home appliances, and a variety of other gadgets.
This evolution has led to a deep intertwining of the physical, social
and digital worlds, raising new research agendas and challenging our
understanding of the requirements for a vastly interconnected world.
The theme for SAINT2010 is the Inclusive Internet. The advent of
Web 2.0, social networks, open API's, mash-ups and cloud computing are
empowering Internet users into becoming Internet "makers." Anyone and
everyone is included, free to contribute content and even services.
The frontier of the Internet no longer stops at the shores of large
corporations, small businesses, and online stores. It has expanded to
include the presence and contributions of virtually all mankind.
The symposium provides a forum for researchers and practitioners from
the academic, industrial, public and governmental sectors to share
their latest innovations on Internet technologies and applications.

Paper Submission and Reviews

Symposium paper submission will be done electronically. Information
for prospective authors, including paper format and instructions can
be found on the SAINT Web page. Symposium Papers will be reviewed by
at least three reviewers, and SAINT has been keeping its acceptance
ratio less than 30% from the beginning.
Workshop papers will be sent to each Workshop's Organizers and should
be reviewed by each Workshop's Program Committee, taking account of a
reasonable acceptance ratio.
No simultaneous submission to multiple publication venues are allowed,
and only original results are acceptable.

The Proceedings of the Symposium and the Workshops will be published
by the IEEE Computer Society Press. At least one full registration is

The SIBGRAPI Video Festival is an exhibition of short videos (up to 3 minutes for technical videos, and 5 minutes for computer animation shorts) generated with computer graphics or digital video processing techniques, which brings technical innovations and/or creativity. Scientists, engineers, computer science researchers, designers, artists, advertising specialists, and animators are encouraged to submit works that fascinate, innovate, provoke, and entertain. Videos that are related to papers and posters submitted to the conference technical sessions are warmly welcome. The SIBGRAPI Video Festival is a privileged forum where professionals, amateurs, production houses, research groups, and students can share experiences and exhibit their productions to a selected and specialized international audience.

The Video Festival takes place during one of the three nights of the symposium in an informal and cheerful session dedicated to innovation and imagination Amongst the accepted videos, the best ones are selected and advertised as the winners of the Specialist Jury Certificate (one for each video category) and the Popular Jury Certificate (one for all categories).

MOTIVATION
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Over the past decades, we have seen a revolution in the way science
and engineering has been conducted. Specially, computation became an
established third brand of science alongside theory and experiment.
Scientists now need to access and exploit computational resources and
databases that are geographically distributed through the use of high
speed networks. Those resources must be modeled and managed in a
similar way we model software development and data through software
engineering processes and database techniques. In order to attack the
next generation of scientific problems, multidisciplinary and
distributed teams of scientists need to collaborate to make progress
on these new challenges.

Current advances in Software Engineering and Database research,
including ontologies, scientific process/workflow modeling, semantic
web services, software component management, grid computing, resource
modeling, process and data provenance, data curation, among others can
help to address these challenges. Several national and international
projects around the world have been initiated to carry out research
and innovation activities that will transform the goal of e-Science
and Grid computing into a reality.

The IV e-Science workshop aims at bringing together recent
developments in databases and software engineering towards a
computerized infrastructure to accomplish science in the large,
supporting the next generation of scientific research and experiments.
The definition, execution and management of scientific experiments can
no longer be developed in an ad-hoc manner. The topic of e-science or
cyberinfrastructure is part of the “Grand Challenges in Computer
Science Research in Brazil – 2006 – 2016” report from the Brazilian
Computer Society.

This workshop serves as a forum to present, discuss and establish new
partnership among scientists that participate in research and
product/tool developments, and highlights related activities from the
Brazilian and international community. The first three versions of the
event were co-located with SBBD/SBES, and showed that there is an
interesting audience on the theme. New projects are taking place,
based on partnerships on the database and software engineering area.
In this forth edition, we would like to extend the possible fields of
collaborations to other areas of Computer Science that have much to
contribute to e-Science.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The workshop will accept submissions of technical papers and posters
written in either English or Portuguese. Technical papers must not
exceed 8 pages, and posters must not exceed 4 pages. Papers and
posters should be formatted according to the Brazilian Computer
Society paper format. All papers and posters must be submitted using
the JEMS conference system.

The technical papers and posters will be reviewed according to the
following criteria: adequacy to the workshop scope, relevance,
technical quality, clarity, and originality. Technical papers
describing preliminary work and ongoing research are also eligible.
Assessment of results is desirable but not a pre-condition for the
submission of the paper. All technical papers must present related
work. Technical papers and posters will be peer reviewed according to
recommendations of the committee.

Selected technical papers will be orally presented during the workshop
and published on the conference CD. Authors must prepare a poster that
will be presented during the poster section.

Selected posters will be presented during a poster section in the
event and published on the conference CD. Authors should be available
to discuss them with the audience during the poster section.

Background and Goals:

Business process management (BPM) technologies are considered as one of the key success stories in providing process control and monitoring functions, and addressing complex integration requirements in enterprise systems. However, the expectation of what this technology must deliver is a moving target. Whereas the success of coordinative processes depends upon the conformance to the prescribed control flow, the success of the collaborative process depends upon the ability to detect and react to changing conditions. What was true for workflow systems is no longer acceptable in the dynamic and cross organizational requirements for management of collaborative processes. The trend is going towards agile, responsive, and (self-)adaptive business processes which are able to make use of existing context information in order to align to changing business requirements. BPM has become a very extensive area with several specialized aspects. This workshop intends to provide a forum wherein challenges in flexible, context-aware, and collaborative business process management can be debated. We seek papers that present innovative technology solutions to these challenges based on well justified practical
assumptions and sound theoretical foundations.

Submitted papers will be evaluated on the basis of significance, originality, technical quality, and exposition. Papers should clearly establish the research contribution, and relation to previous research. Position and survey papers are also welcome.

Brazilian Symposium on Bioinformatics (BSB) will take place in Rio de Janeiro
in 2010, and it is the fifth conference in this series. Before that the conference

According to the report by NIST in 2002, poor software quality costs 60 billion dollars yearly to US economy, and 22 billion dollars can be regained by improving infrastructure for detecting errors using testing closer to the development phase. With the quick increase of software complexity and scale, test automation is becoming an emerging and effective solution in software quality assurance to meet tight project schedules with quality.

Today, there are many published research papers addressing software test automation issues and solutions, numerous test automation tools are available for quality assurance engineer. However, there are many open issues, obstacles, and challenges in software test automation, practice, and standardization. Moreover, there is an emerging need in software test automation standardization to reduce test automation efforts by increasing standardization of test process, test design, and test tools. This workshop is set up to meet these emerging needs.

GOALS

This international workshop on software test automation, practice, and automation brings together software test automation researchers and industry practitioners to exchange innovative ideas, practical solutions, and test automation tools to cope with practical issues and challenges in the real world. Moreover, this workshop is set-up to provide an effective forum for researchers and industry practitioners to discuss the diversity of test automation standards in software projects, test automation standardization needs, challenges, and importance. Furthermore, this workshop provides a great platform for engineers and researchers to report innovative software test automation solutions, and tools, and share practical project experience and lessons, as well as, exchange well-defined test automation standards.

TOPIC OF INTEREST

This international workshop seeks original papers, which propose new test automation ideas, solutions and tools, report practical experience in test automation projects, discuss new test automation processes, standards, models, and test criteria. The typical scope includes different perspectives in test automation, including auto-test infrastructure, standards, models, test generation, test execution, test management, and test coverage analysis and measurement. In addition, it also seeks practice reports that present the current issues, challenges, experience and lessons on software test automation projects.

During the last 30 years, human-centered perceptual understanding tasks such as face/body detection/ tracking, facial characteristic analysis (e.g., age, gender, ethnicity, and expression), face/gait based human identification, and from understanding simple hand gesture to complex human body language, activity and behaviour, have attracted researchers from both computational and psychological communities. To be able to build tractable models has significant scientific and practical values. For example, human-computer interaction, video indexing, visual surveillance, and Internet vision are active application areas. To that end, researchers have made substantial progress. However, significant challenges still remain.

This one-day workshop (AMFG2010) will provide a focused international forum to bring together researchers and research groups to review the status of recognition, analysis and modeling of face, gesture, and body, to discuss the challenges that we are facing, and to explore future directions. A particular interest and focus of this workshop will be placed upon large-scale data from real-world environments. The workshop will consist of two to three invited talks together with peer-reviewed regular papers (oral and poster). Original high-quality papers are solicited on a wide range of topics including:

• Face and body language recognition in real-world environments with unknown/changing background, e.g., Internet image search, or Facebook, or crowded public spaces.

• Soft biometrics and profiling: age, gender, and ethnicity classification by facial and/or body descriptions.

• Novel mathematical modelling and algorithms, sensors and modalities for face & body gesture/action representation, analysis and recognition.

• Novel applications based on robust detection, tracking and recognition of face, body and action.

• Psychological studies that can assist in understanding computational modelling and building better automated computer vision systems.

• Motion analysis, tracking and extraction of face and body models from image sequences captured by a single or multiple cameras from either a fixed or mobile platform.

• Detection and recognition of face and body under large 3D rotation, illumination change, partial occlusion, and aging.

• Face, gait and action recognition in low-quality, low-resolution video from fixed or mobile cameras.

• Dynamics and learning for gesture, activity, and body behavior interpretation.

The workshop on the Grand Challenge in Verified Software (GCVS
2010) will take place on July the 14th. The focus of this
workshop will be on tools, theories and experiments. Consisting
of contributed papers and invited talks, the workshop will
focus on the tools behind the development of systematic methods
for specifying, building, and verifying high-quality software.
This includes topics like: program logic; specification and
verification techniques; tool support for specification
languages; tool for various design methodologies; tool
integration and plug-ins; automation in formal verification;
tool comparisons and benchmark repositories; combination of
tools and techniques (e.g. formal vs. semiformal, software
specification vs. engineering techniques); and customising
tools for particular applications.

Papers about tool architectures and their achievements are most
welcome. The contributed papers, which should report on
previously unpublished work, can reflect current and
preliminary work in areas of software verification. New
technical results, overviews of new developments in software
verification projects, short papers accompanying tool
demonstrations, as well as position papers on how to further
advance the goal of verified software are all welcome.

Papers will be judged on the basis of originality, relevance,
technical soundness and presentation quality. Papers must be
written in English and not exceed 20 pages in the Formal
Aspects of Computing format. Papers can be submitted via the

IEEE Intelligent Systems seeks original papers describing research on AI in Space. This topic has been the focus of earlier special issues, but this call is interested in a glimpse of the future from our standpoint in 2010, and hence the theme AI Space Odyssey.

In anticipation of long-duration space exploration missions to the Moon and Mars, likely by many nations, we are looking for papers describing how AI has made missions possible and will help make missions a success. Whereas in the 1980s and 1990s, researchers saw AI as a panacea for intelligent autonomous systems, the AI technology used today in space applications is often regarded differently. The editors of this special issue solicit papers that describe new and novel use of AI technology for space applications.

Papers may cover a variety of topics, listed here in no particular order:

* semantics, ontologies, and knowledge representation;
* pattern recognition and scientific discovery;
* Intelligent System-Health Management (ISHM);
* teleoperation and telerobotics;
* planning, scheduling, constraint satisfaction;
* adjustable autonomy;

Submission Guidelines

Papers should situate the work within the field of AI, cite related work, and indicate the innovative aspects of the work and its direct contribution to the special challenges of space missions. We will not accept any paper that, at the time of submission, is under review for or has already been published or accepted for publication in a journal or another conference. All papers will undergo peer and editorial review. Submissions should present original reports of substantive new work and should be 3,500 to 7,500 words (counting a standard figure or table as 200 words) and should follow the magazines style and presentation guidelines (see www.computer.org/intelligent/author.htm). ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

Distributed application technology has become a foundation of the information
society. New computing and communication technologies have brought up a
multitude of challenging application areas, including mobile computing,
inter-enterprise collaborations, ubiquitous services, service-oriented
architectures, autonomous and self-adapting systems, peer-to-peer systems,
just to name a few. New challenges include the need for novel abstractions
supporting the development, deployment, management and interoperability of
evolutionary and complex applications and services, such as those bridging the
physical/virtual worlds. Therefore, the linkage between applications,
platforms and users through multi-disciplinary user requirements (like
security, privacy, usability, efficiency, safety, semantic and pragmatic
interoperability of data and services, dependability, trust and
self-adaptivity) becomes of special interest. It is envisaged that future
complex applications will far exceed those of today in terms of these
requirements.

The DAIS conference series addresses all aspects of distributed applications,
including their design, implementation and operation, the supporting
middleware, appropriate software engineering methodologies and tools, as well
as experimental studies and practice reports. This time we welcome in
particular contributions on architectures, models, technologies and platforms
for large scale and complex distributed applications and services that are
related to the latest trends towards bridging the physical/virtual worlds
based on flexible and versatile service architectures and platforms.

DAIS'10 is the 10th event in a series of successful international conferences
which started in 1997. It will provide a forum for researchers, application

Both categories of papers will be reviewed thoroughly by the DAIS'10 Program
Committee. Accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings published

O VIII Workshop de Teses e Dissertações em Qualidade de Software (WTDQS), inserido no IX Simpósio Brasileiro de Qualidade de Software (SBQS2010), é um fórum dedicado à apresentação e discussão de trabalhos de mestrado e de doutorado em Qualidade de Software em desenvolvimento no Brasil.

O objetivo deste evento é propiciar um ambiente construtivo para discussões, dando oportunidade aos alunos não somente de obterem uma realimentação sobre os seus trabalhos, mas também um posicionamento em relação à pesquisa em Qualidade de Software. Pretende-se também estimular a integração e a cooperação de pesquisadores nesta área, bem como oferecer maior visibilidade às pesquisas em andamento para a comunidade acadêmica e industrial.

O WTDQS ocorrerá no dia 07 de junho de 2010. Todos os trabalhos submetidos serão avaliados por três membros do Comitê de Programa. Os trabalhos selecionados deverão ser apresentados pelo aluno durante o Workshop, onde receberão opiniões e críticas construtivas do Corpo Convidado de Debatedores, composto por pesquisadores da área de Qualidade de Software, bem como da comunidade presente. Computing systems including hardware, software, communication, and networks are growing towards an ever increasing scale and heterogeneity, becoming overly complex. Such complexity is getting even more critical with the ubiquitous permeation of embedded devices and other pervasive systems. To cope with the growing and ubiquitous complexity, Autonomic Computing (AC) focuses on self-manageable computing and communication systems that exhibit self-awareness, self-configuration, self-optimization, self-healing, self-protection and other self-x operations to the maximum extent possible without human intervention or guidance. Organic Computing (OC) additionally addresses adaptivity, robustness, and controlled emergence as well as nature-inspired concepts for self-organization.

Any autonomic or organic system must be trustworthy to avoid the risk of losing control and retain confidence that the system will not fail. Trust and/or distrust relationships in the Internet and in pervasive infrastructures are key factors to enable dynamic interaction and cooperation of various users, systems, and services. Trusted/Trustworthy Computing (TC) aims at making computing and communication systems as well as services available, predictable, traceable, controllable, assessable, sustainable, dependable, persistable, security/privacy protectable, etc.

A series of grand challenges exists to achieve practical autonomic or organic systems with truly trustworthy services. Started in 2005, the series of ATC conferences has been held at Nagasaki, Vienna, Three Gorges (China), Hong Kong, Oslo and Brisbane. ATC 2010 will include a highly selective program of technical papers, accompanied by workshops, panel discussions and keynote speeches. Established as a premier venue in the area of autonomic and trusted computing, ATC 2010 will offer a forum for researchers to exchange ideas and experiences in the most innovative research and development in these challenging areas and includes all technical aspects related to autonomic/organic computing (AC/OC) and trusted computing (TC). Topics include but are not limited to the following:

- AC/OC Theory and Models:Models, negotiation, cooperation, competition,self-organization, emergence, verification etc.
- AC/OC Architectures and Systems:Autonomic elements & their relationship, frameworks,middleware, observer/controller architectures, etc.

Accepted main conference papers are planned to be published by Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS, EI indexed).

Selected papers, after extension and further revisions, will be published in special issues of prestigious journals.

NOSSDAV 2010 is the 20th anniversary of SIGMM's leading workshop on
network and operating systems support for digital audio and video. The
workshop, hosted by the Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) and the
Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU), will continue to focus on emerging
research topics, controversial ideas, and future research directions
in the area of multimedia systems research.

As in previous years, we will maintain the focused single-track format
a setting that stimulates lively discussions among the senior and
junior participants.

NOSSDAV encourages experimental research based on real systems and
real data sets. Public availability of the source code and data sets
discussed in papers presented at NOSSDAV is highly encouraged.

For NOSSDAV 2010, we will accept papers on a broad ranges of topics
related to the transmission and presentation of digital audio/video
objects. We are particularly interested in soliciting articles that
discuss systems-level support for distributed social networking, as
well as papers that focus on local dispatching and performance aspects
of multi-core processors. Other topics of interest include (but are
not restricted to):

* OS, middleware and network support
* Overlay networks
* Media streaming, distribution and storage support
* Web 2.0 systems and social networks
* Media sensor and ad hoc networks / Embedded systems
* Multicore architecture support
* Wireless and mobile multimedia systems / Network processor support

Please contact the workshop general and program chairs to check if
your topic is within the scope of NOSSDAV. In all cases, the quality
of presentation (writing style, clarity for persons outside the direct
field) will play a role in submission evaluation.

Submissions should be at most SIX pages, using standard ACM
proceedings style.

Authors of papers selected by the program committee (and one wild-card
paper selected by NOSSDAV participants) will be invited to submit an
extended version of their papers to a special issue of ACM/Springer
Multimedia Systems Journal.

Modeling and Simulation (M&S) is increasingly becoming a central
activity in the design of new systems and in the analysis of
existing systems because it enables designers and researchers to
investigate systems behavior through virtual representations. For
this reason, M&S is gaining a primary role in many industrial and
research fields, such as space, critical infrastructures,
manufacturing, emergency management, biomedical systems and
sustainable future. However, as the complexity of the
investigated systems increases and the types of investigations
widens, the cost of M&S activities increases because of the more
complex models and of the communications among a wider number and
variety of M&S stakeholders (e.g., sub-domain experts, simulator
users, simulator engineers, and final system users). To address
the increasing costs of M&S activities, collaborative
technologies must be introduced to support these activities by
fostering the sharing and reuse of models, by facilitating the
communications among M&S stakeholders, and more generally by
integrating processes, tools and platforms.

Aside from seeking applications of collaborative technologies to
M&S activities, the workshop seeks innovative contributions that
deal with the application of M&S practices to the design of
collaborative environments. These environments are continuously
becoming more complex and therefore their design requires
systematic approaches to meet the required quality of
collaboration. This is important for two reasons: to reduce
rework activities on the actual collaborative environment, and to
maximize the productivity and the quality of the process the
collaborative environment supports. M&S offers the methodologies
and tools for such investigations and therefore it can be used to
improve the quality of collaborative environments.

A non-exhaustive list of hi-level topics includes:

* model sharing and reuse

On-Line Submissions and Publication

CoMetS'10 intends to bring together researchers and practitioners
to discuss key issues, approaches, open problems, innovative
applications and trends in the workshop research area.

Papers should contain original contributions not published or
submitted elsewhere. Papers up to six pages (including figures,
tables and references) can be submitted. Papers should follow the
IEEE format, which is single spaced, two columns, 10 pt
Times/Roman font. All submissions should be electronic (in PDF)
and will be peer-reviewed by at least three program committee
members.

Full papers accepted for the workshop will be included in the
proceedings, published by the IEEE Computer Society Press (IEEE
approval pending). Note that at least one author from each
accepted paper should register to attend WETICE 2010 to get the
paper published in the proceedings.

Authors may contact the organizers for expression of interests
and content appropriateness at any time. Papers can be submitted

ABOUT FLACOS:

The ability to negotiate contracts for a wide range of aspects and to
provide services conforming to them is a most pressing need in
service-oriented architectures. High-level models of contracts are
making their way, but application developers are still left to their
own devices when it comes to writing code that will comply with a
contract. At the programming language level, contracts appear as
separate concerns that cut across application logic, while analysis
requires that contracts are abstracted from applications to become
amenable to formal reasoning.

The aim of this workshop is to bring together researchers and
practitioners working on language-based solutions to the above issues
through formalization of contracts, design of appropriate abstraction
mechanisms, and formal analysis of contract languages and
software. Such languages include, but are not limited to SLA, BPEL,
behavioral interfaces, deontic logic for services, social contracts
(multi-agent systems), formalised legal contracts and other
prescriptive formalisms.

The workshop will include presentations by a number of invited
speakers and others from researchers in the field who are encouraged
to submit an abstract of their work as an expression of interest in
participating in the workshop. The number of participants in the
workshop is strictly limited.

Introduction

The Joint Conference Organizing Committee invites proposals for Workshops,
which will happen immediately prior to the technical conferences and should
address complementary topics of the main conferences. The workshops will
provide an informal setting where participants will have the opportunity to
discuss specific technical topics and exchange research ideas. Workshops
that focus on new and emerging topics or applications are particularly
encouraged. Members of the Artificial Intelligence, Neural Network and
Intelligent Robotics community are invited to submit a proposal.

Requirements for Submission

Proposals (2 to 5 pages) should contain the following information:
. The name and a brief technical description of the workshop;
. A brief discussion of why and to whom the workshop is of interest;
. Description of the workshop, previous similar events, relevance and
significance for the joint conference attendees;
. A preliminary workshop agenda, a proposed schedule for organizing
the workshop and a draft of workshop call for papers regarding the dates
below;
. People involved in the organization and a tentative program
committee of the workshop (name, e-mail, affiliations);

Software language engineering is devoted to topics related
to artificial languages in software engineering. The foremost
mission of the International Conference on Software Language
Engineering (SLE) is to encourage and organize communication
between communities that traditionally have looked at soft-
ware languages from different, more specialized, and yet
complementary perspectives. Thus, technologies, methods,
experiments and case studies from modelware, grammarware,
and ontologyware serving the objectives of software languages
are of particular relevance to SLE.

We invite high-quality submissions to all conference tracks.
Submissions must be PDF files following the Springer LNCS
style and will be managed using the EasyChair submission system.

New at SLE 2010 is a Doctoral Symposium that will provide
a supportive yet questioning setting in which PhD students

PAPER SUBMISSION

Submitted papers must be original work and must not be
previously published in, currently submitted to, or currently
in consideration for any journal, book, conference, or
workshop. Each submitted paper will be reviewed closely by
at least three members of the program committee. Accepted
papers will be distributed at the conference via the online
proceedings as well as published in the post-proceedings,
which will appear in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer
Science (LNCS) series. Authors will have the opportunity
to revise their accepted paper(s) for the pre- and post-
proceedings. For an accepted paper to appear in the proceedings,
at least one author must attend the event and present the work.

RESEARCH PAPERS

Research papers should report a substantial research contribution
to SLE and/or a successful application of SLE techniques. We
solicit high-quality contributions in the area of SLE ranging

Because of SLE's ample interest in tools, we seek papers

of the tool to SLE, and the maturity of the tool. Submissions
may also include an appendix (that will not be published)
containing additional screen-shots and discussion of
the proposed demonstration.

SLE is composed of various research areas, such as grammarware,
modelware, language schemas, and semantic technologies. The
cross product of attendees at SLE creates a situation where
the contribution from one session may be difficult to
understand by those not initiated to the area. To help unite
the various communities of SLE 2010, we solicit mini-tutorials
that provide discussion points for mapping common ideas between
related and complementary research topics of SLE.

A mini-tutorial submission should be between 15 and 20 pages.

In the world of the Internet, the rapid growth and exponential use of digital
medias leads to the emergence of
virtual environments namely digital ecosystems composed of multiple and
independent entities such as individuals,

missions and focusing on the interactions
and inter-relationships among them. The digital ecosystem exhibits
self-organizing environments, thanks to the
re-combination and evolution of its "digital components", in which resources
provided by each entity are properly
conserved, managed and used. The underlying resources mainly comprehend data
management, innovative services,
computational intelligence and self-organizing platforms. Due to the
multi-disciplinary nature of digital ecosystems
and their characteristics, they are highly complex to study and design. This
also leads to a poor understanding as to
how managing resources will empower digital ecosystems to be innovative and
value-creating. The application of Information
Technologies has the potential to enable the understanding of how entities
request resources and ultimately interact to
create benefits and added-values, impacting business practices and knowledge.
These technologies can be improved through
novel techniques, models and methodologies for fields such as data management,
web technologies, networking, security,
human-computer interactions, artificial intelligence, e-services and
self-organizing systems to support the establishment
of digital ecosystems and manage their resources.

The International ACM Conference on Management of Emergent Digital EcoSystems

Group Decision & Negotiation 2010, the 11th annual meeting in the GDN sequence, will take place in Delft, The Netherlands. The joint conference of the INFORMS Section on Group Decision & Negotiation and the EURO Working Groups on Decision and Negotiation Support and Group Decision Support Systems will provide a forum for both researchers and practitioners in the field of Group Decision & Negotiation, bringing together researchers from the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. The conference will be hosted by Delft University of Technology, situated in the beautiful medieval town of Delft.

Aims & Scope
The field of Group Decision and Negotiation focuses on complex, self-organizing processes that can be seen to constitute multi-participant, multi-criteria, ill-structured, dynamic, and often evolutionary problems. Major themes within GDN include (1) software, specifically Group Decision Support Systems (GDSS) and Negotiation Support Systems (NSS), (2) artificial intelligence, (3) management science, (4) information science & technology, and (5) cognitive and behavioral sciences. Special Event: Doctoral Consortium
GDN2010 will host a Doctoral Consortium. The consortium will offer PhD researchers an opportunity to present and discuss their dissertation research progress with other students and faculty. Consortium participants will receive feedback and suggestions regarding their research. Participating faculty will engage in discussions on academic research in GDN and the academic community in general. The GDN2010 Consortium will be held on 21 June, just before the conference.

PhD researchers are invited to submit a short paper that gives an overview of their research. The paper should be limited to 6,000 words, and include the following: problem statement, research question(s), literature review, theoretical/technical model or framework, research method, preliminary findings, and planning.

Types of contributions
Prospective authors are invited to submit research contributions representing ongoing or completed work. Authors can submit abstracts, full papers, session proposals, and panel proposals:
· Abstracts provide a summary of ongoing or completed research and are no more than 1,500 words in length.
· Full papers provide a detailed account of completed research and are no more than 6,000 words in length.
· Session proposals group three papers (either abstracts or full papers) that address a GDN-relevant theme. The proposal briefly outlines the theme of the session and lists the abstracts and/or papers with titles and authors. The actual abstracts and papers are submitted separately.
· Panel proposals describe the key issue of the panel, the way in which the panel will be structured, and list (potential) panelists. Panel proposals are no more than 2,000 words in length.

The program committee will review all submissions. The GDN 2010 Proceedings will include all accepted abstracts, papers, and panels. Full paper submissions will be considered for a special issue in the journal Group Decision & Negotiation, based on an additional round of reviews.

Overview:
With around 1000 submissions and 500 participants each year, the IEEE
International Conference on Multimedia & Expo (ICME) has been the flagship
multimedia conference sponsored by four IEEE societies since 2000. It serves
as a forum to promote the exchange of the latest advances in multimedia
technologies, systems, and applications from both the research and
development perspectives of the circuits and systems, communications,
computer, and signal processing communities.

Paper Submission:
Prospective authors are invited to submit a full paper (two-column format,
maximum 6 pages in length) according to the guidelines available on the
conference website. Only electronic submissions will be accepted.

be presented, or else they will not be included in the IEEE Xplore Library.

Workshops, Tutorials, Demos and Special Sessions:
A number of Workshops will be organized by the sponsoring societies. To
further foster new emerging topics, ICME 2010 also welcomes researchers,
developers and practitioners to organize regular Workshops. Interested

The PETRA Conference brings together different types of technology to address an important social and healthcare issue: as the world's population ages, there is growing interest in solutions for the in- home care of the elderly as well as for the care of people with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and other disabilities or traumas. PETRA (which means "stone" in Greek) reflects the needs of the domestic environment, or "Oikos" as it was known in ancient Greece, but from a technological perspective. People's living environments are particularly important in an increasingly crowded and complex world where the need for inclusiveness and connectivity with the rest of the world is key. PETRA addresses the fact that, as people grow older, they will increasingly rely on technology to be able to stay in their homes.

Esta edição do SBQS ocorrerá em Belém, no Pará, e será realizada pela

Poderão ser submetidos dois tipos de artigos: trabalhos técnicos e relatos
de experiência.

Trabalhos técnicos: artigos de alta qualidade descrevendo resultados
inéditos sobre de pesquisa na área de qualidade de software com
contribuição acadêmica.

Relatos de experiência: artigos de alta qualidade descrevendo e analisando
a aplicação de processos, métodos ou ferramentas de qualidade de software,
contextualizando a experiência e mostrando os resultados obtidos e lições
aprendidas, em uma experiência prática com contribuição para a indústria
de software.

É importante verificar a distinção entre trabalho técnico e relato de
experiência. Artigos classificados equivocadamente (relatos de experiência
submetidos como trabalhos técnicos e vice-versa) serão rejeitados.

Deve ser utilizado o formato definido pela SBC - Sociedade Brasileira de
Computação (http://www.sbc.org.br):

- Item "Template para publicação de artigos"
Todos os artigos devem estar no formato Adobe Portable Document Format
(PDF) e poderão ser submetidos em português, espanhol ou inglês.
Logo após o título do artigo, deve ser definido o tipo de artigo: trabalho
técnico ou relato de experiência. O nome e a filiação dos(as) autores(as)
pode vir a seguir.
Os trabalhos técnicos devem ter entre 12 e 15 páginas, incluindo todas as
figuras, referências e apêndices. Os relatos de experiência devem ter
entre 6 e 8 páginas, incluindo todas as figuras, referências e apêndices.
Artigos que não atenderem a algum destes requisitos de formatação serão
rejeitados.

Os artigos serão julgados por um comitê formado por pesquisadores e
professores envolvidos com Qualidade de Software, considerando diferentes

THEME AND TOPICS

The aim of the special issue is to report the state of research and
practice on the theme of software components, architectures and reuse.
It will cover all topics related to software components, architectures
and reuse including, but not limited to, component-based software
engineering, specification, verification and test of components,
evolution on component-based systems, component repositories,
component-based programming, certification and quality of components,
software architecture description languages, model-driven
architectures, service-oriented architectures, software architectures
and agile development, specification and verification of
architectures, aspect-oriented software reuse, software product lines,
families and domain engineering, evolution on software product lines,
variability management in software, generative programming and
domain-specific languages, model-driven engineering, tool support for
software components, architectures, and reuse, case studies and
experience reports.

SUBMISSION

We solicit high-quality papers on these themes and topics to appear in
this special issue. This call for papers is open to all potential
authors, in addition to those of extended submissions from the
Brazilian Symposium on Software Components, Architectures and Reuse
(SBCARS 2009, http://www.dimap.ufrn.br/sbcars2009/en/index.html).

All submitted papers will undergo a rigorous peer review process. Each
submission will be reviewed by at least three reviewers and will be
selected based on originality, quality, soundness and relevance. All
contributions must be original, written in English, not published,
accepted or submitted for publication elsewhere. The recommended
length of a paper is between 20 and 30 pages. The submissions should
follow J.UCS formatting guidelines. For more details see "JUCS Style

The Journal of Universal Computer Science (J.UCS) is a high-quality
electronic publication that deals with all aspects of computer
science.
J.UCS has been appearing monthly since 1995 and is thus one of the

Goal

ICSE 2010 Research Demonstrations track will provide a forum for conference participants to use presentations, live demonstrations, and interactive poster presentations to learn about research tools from the
software engineering community. Research demonstrations are expected to present implementation of tools for novel and innovative software engineering techniques and processes. Any of the ICSE 2010 topics of interest
are appropriate areas for research demonstrations.

Scope

The program will include two categories of demonstrations: formal research demonstrations and informal research demonstrations:

* Formal research demonstrations are tool demos suitable for mature presentations. Each such demonstration will be presented during a formal presentation session. In addition, we expect presenters to be available for additional informal demonstrations to participants. Four-page papers
will be published in the ICSE proceedings.

* Informal research demonstrations will be demonstrated only informally, through one-on-one or small-group interactions, in a suitably allotted time slot. Two-page extended abstracts will be published in the ICSE proceedings.

Review and Evaluation Criteria

Each submission will be reviewed by at least two members of the research demonstrations committee. The committee will review each submission to assess the relevance and quality of the proposed demonstration in
terms of originality, soundness, and presentation quality. Submissions should describe their relevance to software engineering, discuss the level of maturity of the tool, and reference the technical foundations upon
which they are based (typically, through appropriate references to previously-published work). Based on reviewers' comments and recommendations, the committee will classify accepted demonstrations as either
formal or informal research demonstrations which will be published in the conference proceedings.

Submission

Research demonstration papers must be submitted electronically via Cyberchair and conform to the ICSE 2010 Format and Submission Guidelines. The deadline for research demonstration papers submission is 07
January 2010. Submissions should consist of a single document with two to three parts. The first part, at most four pages, should describe the tool presented. The second part, as an appendix of at most two pages, should
explain how the demonstration will be carried out and what it will show. Optionally, authors may attach up to four additional pages of screen dumps, well-captioned, to illustrate the planned demo.

Publication

Final camera ready papers will follow the ICSE 2010 Format and Submission Guidelines. The camera ready for formal demonstrations will be limited to four pages. The camera ready for informal demonstrations
will be limited to two pages that will summarize the original submission. All accepted formal and informal research demonstration papers will be published in the conference proceedings

Presentation and Demonstration

Besides the paper, the authors of accepted formal demonstrations will be expected to deliver both presentations and demonstrations. The authors of the accepted informal demonstrations will be expected to deliver demonstrations only.

* Presentations: presentations of the technical characteristics of the systems will be demonstrated during a session of the conference. Two data projectors will be available, so that both a live demonstration and the slides can be projected at the same time.

* Demonstrations: There will be a separate time slot for demonstration of about 3 hours in a venue equipped for small-group informal demonstrations. In this way, ICSE attendees and demonstrators
will have more opportunities for stimulating one-on-one interactions. Only desks will be provided during this time period.

* Posters: Authors should prepare posters to display during the demonstration slot; the posters will also be on display during breaks for ICSE participants to view.

Equipment

We will not provide any computing equipment such as computers, disk drives, or monitors. We will, however, provide basic electronic projection capabilities during the formal demonstration and desks for the informal
demonstrations.

Software is created by groups —software engineers—working in varied
environments, under various conditions. Thus understanding cooperative
and human aspects of software development is crucial to comprehend how
methods and tools are used, and thereby improving the creation and
maintenance of software. The goal of this workshop is to provide a forum
for discussing high quality research on human and cooperative aspects of
software engineering. We aim at providing both a meeting place for the
growing community and the possibility for researchers interested in
joining the field to present their work in progress and get an overview
over the field.
Inspired by the hosting country’s concept of co-responsibility – ubuntu
– we especially invite contributions that address community-based
development like open source development and sustainability of ICT
eco-systems.

• Social and cultural aspects of software engineering,
• Psychological and cognitive aspects of software engineering,
• Managerial and organizational aspects of software engineering,
• Empirical studies of software development using both qualitative
and quantitative methods,

• Software engineering as cooperative work,
• Coordination and mutual awareness in large scale software development,
• Cooperation between software developers and other professionals
over the lifetime of a system,
• Knowledge management in software engineering,

• User participation in regard to ownership, training, level of
involvement, interplay with developers, sustainability and deployment
aspects

Submissions

As last year, we will have 3 paper categories.
• Full papers (up to 8 pages)
• Short papers (up to 4 pages)
• Notes (1 page)

Papers that cannot be accommodated in the plenary sessions will be
presented in discussion round tables.

Workshop goals
==============
The main goal of this workshop is to present current research and to
explore new research directions that will lead to improvements in the
creation and maintenance of software, from the perspective of both
processes and tools.
A secondary goal is to build and strengthen the community among the
researchers working on cooperative and human aspects of software
engineering, including those who typically attend ICSE and those who
hail from other disciplines. The goal is particularly to expand the
community in Africa.

The IEEE Symposium on Field-Programmable Custom Computing Machines is
a forum to present and discuss new research on the use of
reconfigurable computing, spatial computing, and application-specific
architectures that exploit the unique features of FPGAs and other
reconfigurable hardware. Of particular interest are papers in these
areas that emphasize high-performance and/or low-energy
computation. This conference focuses on a wide variety of topics
related to custom computing, and seeks submissions from the following
main areas:

Architectures

* Architectures for high-performance and/or low-power configurable
computing
* New spatial architectures with immense parallelism but different
basic components than FPGAs
* System-level architectures for reconfigurable computing in either
real-time or non-real-time systems
* Hybrid architectures that integrate a mix of coarse, fine,
special-purpose, and general-purpose hardware
* Implications and effects of nanotechnology on reconfigurable
computing (and vice versa)

Languages and Compilers

* New languages and development environments to describe spatial or
hybrid applications
* Tools to make run-time reconfiguration more accessible to
application designers
* Compilation and CAD techniques for reconfigurable computing systems
and other spatial computers Run-Time Systems and Run-Time
Reconfiguration
* Operating system techniques to manage run-time reconfiguration of
resources in reconfigurable computing or spatial computing systems
* Run-time CAD algorithms to support the above techniques or improve
fault tolerance/avoidance
* Use of reconfigurability to build evolvable or adaptable computing
systems
* Novel uses of run-time reconfiguration in application-specific
systems

Applications

* Novel applications that use reconfigurability to customize hardware
for scientific computation, mobile communications, medical image
processing, data and communication security, network infrastructure
and other embedded systems
* Comparison of application implementations on different spatial
hardware, such as GPGPUs, multi-core processors, and FPGAs.

Open-Source Tools and Applications

This year we particularly encourage papers introducing CAD tools,
compilers, benchmark libraries, and/or benchmark circuits that are
open source and publicly available. To be considered under this
heading, submissions must include a web link to the source accessible
by the reviewers, and make the source publicly-available upon
acceptance. For these papers, evaluation will be based more on the
usefulness to the community than research novelty. Submissions

FCCM solicits both 8-page full paper and 4-page short paper
submissions. All submissions should be written in the English
language, and are due by January 12th, 2010 through the online
submission link that will be available on the FCCM website starting in
late December, 2009. Authors will be notified by February 25th. Papers
should use the formatting template linked at the FCCM website.

Distributed sensor systems have become a highly active research area due

The First International Conference on Parallel, Distributed and Grid
Computing (PDGC-2010) will be organized at Jaypee University of

Workshop Description
--------------------
There has been a relative explosion of personal multimedia data in recent times e.g. work documents, e-mail, personal images/videos, sensing devices to record biometric data when we go running, cell phone text messages, sensed data from the environment around us (air quality, our home energy usage), etc. Some of these technologies already potentially offer great assistance to those with memory impairments, with emerging results from the cognitive psychology field being very encouraging. The most significant missing element is the technologies to give end users reliable, efficient and high-quality information retrieval over these personal media archives.

These archives pose new and unique challenges in that: data is likely to be multi-modal in nature (text, audio, photo, video, biometric, location, etc.); there may be a vast number of data items (a lifetime of data); items will often not be joined by inter-document links; the archive will contain much non-useful data that users will never want to see again; the archive will contain data about the user’s environment that they may not understand; the user may be unable to describe clearly what they are looking for; they may not even be aware that the data was captured and is available; and it may often be helpful to recommend content related to the user’s current context.

This workshop will provide a forum for researchers from different backgrounds to present and discuss their ideas relating to the IR challenges of effectively accessing personal media archives. We are interested in the report of current work including: development of new sensing devices and technologies to capture novel data of personal interest, algorithmic
research, user studies on the real-life benefits of efficiently accessing personal media archives, and also position papers on the place of personal media archive research within IR
or proposals for research strategies in this area. Submissions will be selected for presentation to reflect a spectrum of work and to encourage cross-disciplinary discussion in the workshop.

Aim & Topics
------
The aim of this one-day workshop is to foster discussion on issues related to personal media archives which capture access mechanisms to life’s experiences. We invite regular and position papers as well as demonstrations (accompanied by descriptive papers) on relevant topics, including, but not limited to:

- IR challenges in personal media archives (indexing and search)
- User studies on the human benefits of being able to efficiently access personal media data
- Scaling up to large archives (a lifetime of data)
- E-memories
- Sensors to record new pieces of information about our lives e.g. biometric, environmental, or reporting on those who are around us
- Accessing e-mails and personal desktop data
- Retrieval of personal feelings/annotations from blogs, twitter, and social networking websites
- Multi-modal and context sensitive retrieval
- Semantic concept detection within personal media archives
- Social network analysis for personal media archives
- Summarisation / re-telling of personal media data
- Structuring and organisation of personal media archives for browsing, search and retrieval
- Evaluation issues in accessing personal media data
- Challenges of retrieval in personal media archives from multiple devices (mobile devices, desktops, tabletops, display walls, etc.)
- Novel methods for interacting with personal media archives
- Usability and design of technology for personal digital memories

Submissions for the workshop must follow the standard ACM double column style guidelines. They shall be submitted in PDF format and not be longer than 8 pages. Papers will be submitted using the EasyChair system, http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iapma2010. In submitting a manuscript to this workshop, the authors acknowledge that no paper substantially similar in content has been submitted to another workshop, conference, or journal.

All submitted papers will undergo a double-blind peer review process. At least three reviewers from the PC members and external reviewers will evaluate the originality, significance, clarity, soundness, relevance, and technical contents of the submitted manuscripts.

Accepted papers will be published in the workshop proceedings together with the proceedings of the ECIR 2010 conference. Based on the quality of the manuscripts, selected papers may be invited to submit to a special journal issue.
